Incentives

The NS&I Research Community currently operates an incentive initiative for members, these may be changed or withdrawn at any time. Below you will find full details of the current incentives that are active on the NS&I Research Community - there may be different incentive schemes in the future and this page will be updated accordingly.  You will be informed of any changes to incentives via email and on the Community.

Spot prizes

Spot prizes will be administered every month to members who have provided particularly insightful or interesting comments/discussions, at the discretion of the Explain moderators and NS&I team. Ten winners will be selected every month, with a fixed incentive of a £10 Amazon voucher for each winner. Each winner will receive an email letting them know they have won and will be asked to confirm the email address the voucher should be sent to. Once this has been confirmed, the Amazon voucher will be sent via email. Failure to respond to this email within 15 working days to confirm an email address may result in the incentive being reallocated.

Leaderboard 

There is a leaderboard on the NS&I Research Community which automatically shows the usernames of the ten members with the most points for the month and all time. All points count towards your levels whether you appear on the leaderboard top ten or not. In our existing incentive structure, it's important to note that the leaderboard serves an entertainment role and does not impact your likelihood of winning a prize.

Additional incentives 

Additional incentives will run over a period of three months (for example across November, December and January) with all members who participate in the Community every month over this three-month period being entered into the prize draw. The additional incentive will be announced at the start of each three-month period to all Community members through a poll on the Community, where members will be given options for the next prize and able to vote for their preferred option.

Participation includes any of the following: starting a discussion, commenting on posts and taking part in polls and surveys.

At the end of the additional incentive timeframe, a winner will be selected at random from the eligible members. The winner will receive an email letting them know they have won and will be asked to confirm the email address or postal address the incentive should be sent to. Once this has been confirmed, the incentive will be sent within one week. Failure to respond to this email within 15 working days to confirm an email address or postal address may result in the incentive being reallocated. Following the distribution of the additional incentive, Explain will retain the winner’s details, including postal address, for one month in case of any difficulties in receiving the prize.

If Explain wishes to announce the usernames of the winners on the Research Community, each winner will always be emailed for consent beforehand.
